Illustrated map of fictional Podcast City

Audiomeans, a French podcast hosting company, commissioned me to create an illustrated map a fictional city called Podcast City. They worked on a selection of 494 influential podcasts from the French podcast scene and were looking for a creative way to share this list.

After a lot of thoughts the idea of a fictional city map came up. The podcasts were sorted in different categories (tech, sports, gaming, politics, comedy, etc.) which we decided to represent as neighborhoods with fun illustrations representing those categories. We also decided to distinguish native podcasts from radio replays on the map with different icons, and the most popular podcasts, based on their Apple Podcasts ratings, are highlighted.
